Friction fit under the category of general manufacturing process 'Connect'. This process, as the name suggests, uses friction to produce heat energy. One of the components is rotated at high speed against the other, is generated until sufficient heat to forge the joints. Once the desired temperature is reached, ends the common roatation and then forged.

Phase 2, the pressure is gradually increased to generate more heat which in turn power the material plastic welding. It can also begin to dilute the material in the mating surface where the rotation takes place, although this is not absolutely necessary for the next stage of forging joint.
Phase 3 to forge common, the rotation is stopped and the rapidly increasing pressure to displace any liquid metal and produce joints.
As you can see from the various stages are described, it causes a combination of rotation and pressure, the friction. But once the temperature is reached, the rotation is no longer necessary and a high pressure to create the final stage of forging a link, if both components are static. Another, that one component to another occurs by the displacement force as a result of the forging pressure, described as a transfer acidic.
This is a common method for joining thermoplastic or different metals, in which at least one component must be circular and join one of the ingredients must be ductile when hot so upset forging or stage effect. It should be noted that, although this method friction welding is known, there is no need for the presence of molten metal, it is actually more likely to be the process of forging welding process.
From the perspective of cost tooling costs for an entity other relatively cheap, but the cost of the machine to make the process quite expensive. There is very little memo yet and no need for fillers or rods.
Attention in the positioning of the components to ensure that the quality of the resultant compound is quite good. Components misaligned or out of the square is a combined low quality, although this is rare and is generally quite reliable method.
The main disadvantage of friction welding, must be that the configuration of such a critical form of welded joints of the effect of heat energy when needed necessitates. This means that there are significant limitations on the amount and the type of configuration that can be connected to friction welding.
